At Bikago Bali Bike Rental, we focus on motorbikes ranging from 110-160cc. These bikes are ideal for navigating Bali’s narrow roads and busy traffic, with fewer licensing restrictions.

If you left your bike somewhere after a night out, no worries—we can trace it and deliver it to you for a $10 service fee.

This is not necessary and as we are a cashless company, our staff is not allowed to take cash. However, we do really appreciate the gesture and we would greatly appreciate if instead, you could leave your review about our services on TripAdvisor, Google+ or TrustedShops.

How to make a booking?

To book, select your dates on our website and choose delivery to your hotel/villa, the airport, or pickup from one of our shops in Bali. Click ‘Check availability’ to see available bikes for your selected dates and locations.

Choose your bike type, then select additional options like insurance, helmets, hard cases, International Driving Permit, and SIM cards. Enter your details and complete payment online.

Our website will show prices in your local currency or USD, but you can select another currency to process the payment. We accept payments via credit card, PayPal, or local options like iDeal, Qris, and QR-код.

Alternatively, contact us on WhatsApp and we will be happy to assist you with your reservation and answer any questions you may have.

Our minimum rental days vary by season. Bookings of 3 days or more include free delivery and collection. For rentals under 3 days, we can arrange delivery/collection, with applicable fees.

Yes, you can cancel your booking at any time. Without cancellation insurance, we cannot refund the rental charges. With insurance, you’ll receive a full refund minus the cancellation insurance cost.

If you didn’t add cancellation insurance at the time of booking or within 24 hours, adding it later will cost 200% of the original cancellation insurance price.

You can change your booking dates, depending on bike availability. Changes are free of costs if the rental period remains the same. Contact us via WhatsApp or email, or use the ‘Change Booking’ button in your confirmation email.

Our system applies discounts for longer rentals, and we offer special monthly rates. Returning customers get a 10% discount on their next rental—just contact us on Whatsapp to get your voucher code!

Our whole fleet consist of as new vehicles and our bikes are never older than 2 years. Our bikes undergo strict maintenance routines and always ride like new.

We can’t guarantee the bike color, but you can mention your preference, and we’ll do our best to accommodate based on availability. You can always contact our Customer Service via email or Whatsapp to check color availability at specific locations.

Currently our booking system can only create bookings for 1 bike at a time. However at the last confirmation page, there will be a button “Repeat my booking”.

Statement regarding "ban" on scooter and motorbike rentals to tourist in Bali Indonesia

Please note that there is no law (as of yet) in Indonesia prohibiting tourists from renting bikes. Bikago is a fully licensed motorbike rental company since 2014 and we have not received any notice to cease our operations. 

That said, the police is very hands on at the moment. The reason is that culprits are renting bikes in Bali not respecting local laws and customs. Also, there are un-licensed (foreign owned) motorbike rental companies not following the incorporation and business laws in Bali, Indonesia.  

To make sure you stay “out of trouble” please obey the simple rules below:

1. You (and your passenger) ALWAYS wear a helmet.

2. Make sure you have an International Driving Permit.

3. Do not ride around Bali shirtless. 

4. Do NOT drink and drive.

By simply obeying to those 4 rules there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Given the recent increase in efforts by the Balinese Police Force to maintain safety, it’s essential for tourists to be responsible and respectful. We’ve compiled some crucial guidelines for you to follow while using our motorbike rental in Bali. To ensure a safe and enjoyable trip, please follow these important guidelines as failure to do so may result in serious consequences:

Always wear your helmet!

Both riders must wear helmets. Paying bribes is not an option, and you could end up at a police station. Failure to comply may result in your bike being seized with no refund. 

Make sure you have a VALID International Drivers License

Not having one can lead to fines or imprisonment (Article 281). You can simply get the IDP before traveling in your home country, or we can help you to get one due to our partnership with the International Driver Association. You can apply for a digital version, which will be emailed to you in PDF format within 2 hours.

Refrain from riding shirtless

t’s disrespectful to local culture and with the current situation, the police can charge you with public indecency, and fines will be determined at their discretion. Please respect local customs in Bali, just as you would want others to respect yours at home.

In accordance with the Police Officers’ Meeting held on 09-03-2023, here’s the official list of violations and fines for 2023 related to Bali motorbike rentals and scooter hires:

– No helmet: IDR 250,000 or up to 1 month in prison

– No driver’s license: IDR 1 million or up to 4 months in prison

– Missing registration/license plates: IDR 500,000 or up to 2 months in prison

– Violating traffic signs: IDR 500,000 or up to 2 months in prison

– Speeding ticket fines (IDR 500,000 or up to 2 months imprisonment)

– Not using turn signals: IDR 250,000 or up to 1 month in prison

– Not using daytime running lights: IDR 100,000 or up to 15 days in prison

– Not using headlights at night: IDR 250,000 or up to 1 month in prison

Do I need a driving license ?

To rent from us, you need a valid car driving license from your home country at minimum. In Bali, all tourists must also have an International Drivers Permit (IDP) to drive or ride any motorized vehicle.

In Bali, all foreign tourists must have an International Drivers Permit (IDP) to drive or ride any motorized vehicle, in addition to their home country license. In most countries an IDP is issued easily, but if you don’t have an IDP, you can quickly get one securely online through our partnership with the International Drivers Association.

If you’re already in Bali, you can opt to get the digital version only. If you’re still at home, you can opt to get both the booklet and digital versions. You can also get the IDP even if you don’t rent from Bikago.

What is covered by your insurance?

With our Motorbike Insurance, you’re covered for damage, theft, or accidents, including repair and repatriation costs over USD 95 (excess/own risk). If your motorbike for whatever reason becomes unavailable, we’ll replace it with a new one for the duration of your rental.

Please note, we don’t provide third-party or health liability coverage. We recommend handling this with your travel insurance.

Do I need to pay a security deposit?

If you’ve included our motorbike insurance, no security deposit is required. Without insurance, a deposit of USD 750 is required.

Our prices are quoted and by default charged in United States Dollar. You can select a different currency during booking, if preferred.

We do not accept cash payments. For safety of both our customers and our staff, we only accept secure online payments. Online payments provide us confirmation regarding the identity of our customers and in return they always receive accurate payment statuses, ensuring reliability and accountability for both parties. This also allows customers to easily extend bookings and track payment statuses.

Russian customers can pay in Rubles via QR-код with an additional 10% fee for bank processing.

Through our partnership with DOKU, you can also pay in cash at Indonesian Mini Marts like Alfamart, with instant transfer to us.

Yes, paying by credit card is very safe.

We are using PCI Compliant credit card gateways powered by world renowned providers Stripe.com and Braintree.com. None of our staff can see your credit card details, as they are safely stored in the PCI Compliant credit card vaults by our providers and transferred using encrypted SSL connections. For each transaction you do with us you will receive an automatic receipt by email.

We always aim to process the refund of your deposit within 24 hours once the bike is returned in the same condition. In case there are any issues with your rented item(s), for example damages or missing items, we will contact you by e-mail to inform you about this.

We aim to process deposit refunds within 24 hours (on business days) once the bike is returned in good condition. You’ll receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed.

Refunds typically take 5-10 business days to reflect on your account, due to banking processes. Note that refunds may appear as reversals, where the original payment is removed from your statement without a separate credit.

PayPal refunds are processed instantly.

Do I have to return the bike with a full tank of petrol?

Yes, we expect you to return the bike with a full tank of petrol. If you do not have time to do this, we can provide this service for a fee of $5 (USD) + the cost for refilling the petrol based on prevailing Pertamina rates for Pertamax Provincie Bali rates which can be found here.

Depending on the bike type, a full tank usually lasts around 150 kilometers.

You may fill up the petrol with Pertamax (blue color) at the gas station.

Do you deliver to the airport?

We offer delivery and pickup to/from Ngurah Rai Airport for $1 (USD) one-way. Just provide your flight number and arrival time, and we’ll meet you in the arrivals area with a sign bearing your name. Additional information on where to find us in the International Airport can be found here.

For airport returns we’ll meet you at the motorbike parking entrance. We provide an e-money card that can be used to enter the motorbike parking.

If you’ve booked a bike to be delivered at the airport, we’ll track your flight to confirm your arrival time. Please keep us informed of any delays via email or Whatsapp.

Our staff will meet you at the terminal with a call sign bearing the Bikago logo and your name. They will guide you to the motorbike parking for the bike handover. You can watch our video below which shows where you can meet our airport staff in the Ngurah Rai Bali airport.

Note that a parking fee is required when exiting the parking lot. Our airport service fee includes providing an e-money card, which can be used to enter and exit the motorbike parking. We may also ask to see the credit/debit card used for booking and your passport for verification purposes.

You can book a return time, and we’ll meet you at the motorbike parking entrance. If you’re short on time, you can leave the bike in the parking after notifying us. Please send us 6 pictures (all 4 sides, inside the seat, and the odo- and fuel meter) and leave the bike key and parking ticket inside the locked seat.

Yes, we can transfer the bike anywhere in Bali for $10 (USD). Please note we may swap to another bike based on location availability. Please inform our Customer Care team if you need to keep your original bike.

If your booking exceeds the minimum days and involves collecting and returning the bike at any of the Bikago shops, the first transfer is free.

Example 1 (with delivery and collection)

If you book from April 1st to 9th, with delivery to a hotel in Ubud and collection from a hotel in Canggu, the delivery and collection are free. A transfer request during your rental period will cost $10.

Example 2 (with shop pickup and return)

If you book from April 1st to 9th at our Ubud and Canggu shops, no charges apply for a transfer during your rental period.

Yes, you can leave the bike and rented items at the reception of your hotel/villa after notifying us. Please send us 6 pictures (all 4 sides, inside the seat, and the odo- and fuel meter) and let us know the name of the person who accepted the keys.

We don’t offer luggage storage, but Bali Store Luggage provides a secure, climate-controlled storage solution. They offer 24/7 access for luggage, surfboards, backpacks, and more, with options for short or long-term storage. They also provide pick-up, delivery, and passenger transfer services.
